Harmonize a no-show, court rules in favor of Bank
According to reports out of Tanzania, Harmonize skipped several summons leading to the court finding him at fault.
The Cooperative Rural Development Bank (CRDB) of Tanzania approached the court seeking legal redress after the Bongo star defaulted to pay two loans granted to him in 2019.
In addition to failure to honor court summons, Harmonize tragically failed to file any defense with the court.
In a ruling delivered by Judge Cleophas Morris, Harmonize has been ordered to pay the 2 loans at an 18% interest rate together with KES 475,000 in damages to the bank.
Harmonize’s acrimonious divorce with WCB Wasafi records
Harmonize approached the Cooperative Rural Development Bank (CRDB) of Tanzania in October 2019 seeking a loan.
The loan was granted to supposedly help him set up his studio and buy recording equipment. A month earlier in 2019, Harmonize had fallen out with his then-boss and mentor Diamond Platnumz.
Officially going by Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, Platnumz is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) music record label.
At the height of his success, the top Tanzanian musician and performer began efforts to uplift young budding talents in the industry.
First through the door was the promising talent Harmonize who wasted no time to top the charts with back-t0-back hits.
Shortly after releasing his first single Aiyola in 2015, Harmonize linked up with Diamond for a smash collaboration titled Bado.
The two songs were instant sensations in East Africa and beyond, putting Harmonize in the ascendancy.
Harmonize and Diamond would later release Kwa Ngwaru before their jaw-dropping collaboration with Nigerian heavy-weight Burna Boy.
Barely 5 years later, Harmonize bolted out of the WCB record label in a huff. The grueling fallout between Diamond and Harmonize came as a surprise to Bongo music faithful who had long gotten used to the duo.
Standing between him and his solo music career were the millions of shillings of agency fees in Harmonize’s contract.
In the aftermath of the separation, Harmonize sold his properties including cars and parcels of land to pay off his hefty WCB contract.
Harmonize sets up Konde Gang Music label
Having finally cut ties with WCB, the self-styled Tembo (Elephant) proceeded to set up his studio which he named “Konde Gang”
The Cooperative Rural Development Bank (CRDB) apparently came to the flourishing singer’s rescue by giving him a much-needed financial boost.
Harmonize went on to chart his path to success with a few of his associates. Close to him in the second phase were his now-estranged girlfriend Frida Kajala Masanja and his newly signed artist Ibrahim Abdallah Nampunga alias Ibraah.
Efforts to reconcile Konde Boy (Harmonize) and Diamond have been futile. Former Tanzanian president John Magufuli was well-briefed about their feud and even attempted to reconcile the two. His efforts were unsuccessful, as the duo still didn’t see eye to eye.
As the court dispute progresses, Harmonize still enjoys glory at the top of the music charts alongside his former boss and now arch-rival Diamond Platnumz.
