Mikel Merino edging closer to Arsenal

Arsenal sealed their win over Wolves against a backdrop of excitement among fans over the imminent arrival of Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino.

The Arsenal transfer target was left out of Sociedad’s opening clash against Rayo Vollecano in the Spanish La Liga Santander.

Latest reports suggest that Arsenal have supposedly got their man in a deal said to be upwards of £30 million.

Mikel Merino is a central midfielder who excelled in the recently concluded Euro 2024 tournament where he helped Spain win the prestigious title.

The midfield ‘destroyer’ is expected to occupy the base of Arsenal’s midfield as The Gunners look to strengthen their ranks for the new season.

Arsenal’s hierarchy also hopes to bring in at least 2 more players before the transfer window shuts on August 30.
