The Nairobi-based airline will charge Ksh. 11,000 for flights to Dar es Salaam Tanzania booked between the 6th and 11th of November 2024.

Skyward Express has also announced that the discount will be available for travel between November 15th and March 31st, 2025.

The airline flies passengers to these destinations from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. Its cargo freight service seamlessly runs from the JKIA, East Africa’s busiest airport.

Skyward Express recently had a minor setback when it temporarily suspended its flights to Kakamega.

In an official statement, the aviation company cited the poor condition of the runway at Kakamega Airstrip as the cause of the suspension.

According to the leading domestic flight operator, Kakamega Airstrip posed safety concerns for its fleet, crew, and passengers.

Commissioned by President Ruto in December 2022, Kakamega Airstrip was designed to accommodate commercial flights, reducing the need for passengers to make stopovers in Eldoret or Kisumu.

Despite the infrastructural challenges and stiff competition from local players like Jambojet and Safari Link, Skyward Express looks to expand its coverage beyond Kenya’s borders.

The new Dar es Salaam route is expected to boost traveling convenience by presenting a new alternative, as well as grow the tourism sector and economic ties between Kenya and Tanzania.
