As Kenya gears up for the 2027 election, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive participation by resuming Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
Eligible Kenyans will be able to register at any IEBC Constituency Office, except in areas currently experiencing by‑elections.

This is the gazetted list, dated 25th September 2025, and officially signed by IEBC Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon.
The CVR exercise kicked off on Monday, 29th September 2025, countrywide, particularly targeting young people who have recently attained 18 years, and all citizens who have not yet registered or need to update their voter information.
At the IEBC constituency office, expect the following services ahead of the upcoming 2027 election:
- New voter registration
- Transfer of registration to a new location
- Correction or update of voter information
- Checking voter registration status
This initiative is anchored in the constitutional mandate under Article 88(4) of the 2010 Constitution, aiming to give every eligible Kenyan a chance to participate in the electoral process.
20,754 Kenyans had registered as new voters as of 10th October 2025, according to the IEBC.
Kenyans Gear Up For Sweeping Changes in 2027
The ongoing voter registration exercise is a crucial step toward what is widely expected to be a highly consequential election in 2027.
Amid serious economic hardships and growing antagonism from the state, Kenyans have been streaming into constituency offices across the country to register as voters.
Public frustration remains palpable months after grueling protests against wanton corruption, abductions, and economic mismanagement.
This is an opportunity for citizens to hold the seemingly ineffective political class accountable at the ballot box.
